Ss. Peter and Paul School has established a Board of Limited Jurisdiction consisting of members who bring the needed talent, expertise, and experience to address our school’s issues. This Board is foundational to the quality of the Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Buffalo. The Board takes a great deal of ownership by dealing with issues and is involved in carrying out its responsibilities (for example, planning, budgeting, decision-making, advancement, and marketing).
Regular Board meetings are held throughout the year.
Meet our School Board members:
Steve lives in the village of Williamsville with his wife, Angela. He has been a member of the parish community since 2010, where he serves as a lector at the early Sunday Mass. Steve, a graduate of Canisuis College’s computer science program and a 2013 Buffalo Business First “40-Under-40” awardee, brings both corporate and community leadership experience to the school board. Professionally, Steve leads a computer security and risk management department at HSBC, and in the community, he serves as a Board Trustee and heads the Technology Committee at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He’s been fortunate to learn first-hand how technology can complement and enhance education, and he looks forward to lending his operational, financial, and strategic skills to help deliver Saints Peter and Paul’s Catholic educational mission.
Kathryn (Katie) has been a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church since 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and History from Canisius College and a Master of Administration and Supervision degree from the University of Virginia. Katie taught three years of civics to middle school students in Central Virginia before accepting a position to teach AP Economics for three years at the high school level in Northern Virginia. During her time as an educator, she served as an adviser to several clubs, led regular school and nonprofit fundraisers, taught professional development courses, and served as a school activities coordinator. Katie and her husband Brendan (an SSPP alumnus) moved back to Western New York to raise their family. They have three children (Quinn, Lilah, and Declan), who they plan to have attend Saints Peter and Paul School. Katie’s education and years of experience in the classroom have given her a valuable understanding of curriculum and staff development, as well as an appreciation for school and community relations. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experiences with the Board and school community to further enrich the educational experience for all students of Saints Peter and Paul School.
Rose has been a parishioner and SSPP parent since 2002. She is married to Paul, and is mother to Lydia (2006), Valerie (2009), Robert (2011) and Julie (2014). As a mother of four SSPP School graduates, Rose has seen first hand the spiritual and academic growth possible with an education from SSPP School. This education is reinforced beyond the school week – and beyond 8th grade – through involvement in the SS Peter and Paul faith community. Rose is passionate about educating the whole child through a strong parish school model and this has been her motivation in joining the SSPP School Board. Rose has been an active volunteer for many years and is currently a member of the SSPP MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing) planning team and SSPP Respect Life committee, a teacher for Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and co-chair of the annual SSPP Community Clothing Exchange.
Jamey has been an active member of the parish and involved school parent since 2002. Over the years, he has gained a much richer appreciation for the value of Catholic Education and looks forward to giving back to our parish and school community as a school board member. Jamey will bring to the school board operational management experience gained from both private and public sector work experience. Jamey holds a BS in Business from Niagara University and an MBA from Canisius College along with certificates in Lean Six Sigma and Project Management. Jamey is married to Colleen and has three children; Michael (SSPP graduate 2011), Laura (SSPP graduate 2016), and Thomas. We pray that the contribution of Jamey’s time and talent will help support the long-term growth and vitality of SSPP School in the years ahead.
Geri has been an educator for over 25 years, teaching in both Parochial Schools and the Maryvale School District. She has dedicated her life to the education of children. Her goal as a School Board member is to share her educational experiences with the children and staff of Ss. Peter and Paul School.
Mikki (Marguerite) Miner is a graduate of Catholic schools, from Our Mother of Good Counsel Elementary School and Immaculata Academy, continuing at Sisters Hospital School of Nursing for an RN, and Canisius College for a BA in psychology and a Masters in counseling education. Her husband, children and grandchildren have all attended Catholic schools. She hopes her service on the Ss. Peter and Paul School Board of Limited Jurisdiction will help continue both the tradition and the choice of great Catholic school education.
Pat received her Master’s Degree in Literacy from Medaille College, an extension for certification from Canisius College, and BA in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia. She acquired her Teaching Certification in K-12 in Literacy, N-2, and K-6 Classroom teacher. Pat has 17 years teaching experience in Holland Central Schools, Tazewell County Schools in Virginia, and the Diocese of Buffalo. She retired from teaching after spending over 2 years as a part-time teacher aide in the pre-school program at Ss. Peter and Paul School at the end of her career. Pat is a former President of the Cleveland Hill PTA, and an active member of the Sigma Phi Gamma International Woman’s Service Sorority. Pat is new to SSPP as a parishioner and applied to be a member of the School Board because she wants to see our beautiful school flourish not just survive. Pat’s husband is a 1965 graduate of Ss. Peter and Paul School.
